Avon Fire & Rescue Service opens recruitment- aspiring firefighters wanted!

Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) encourages to consider a new career this winter as they open recruitment and look for aspiring firefighters to join the Service. The application process will be opened in November and all new recruits will have an opportunity to find out more about the role, Service, day to day duties, before they undertake practical test in early 2019.

Main message of the recruitment campain is ‘Yes You Can’ and is referred to communities of Bristol, Bath, North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. Service looks for applicants from different areas and backgrounds.

As a wholetime firefighter, you would be responsible for ensuring Avon’s fire stations are crewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Fully qualified firefighters earn £29,000 a year and have the opportunity to look for promotion within the Service.
